Pierre Labat designs his work in accordance with the special features of a given space. Nevertheless, his work exists independently and creates its own space. The visitor is somewhere in an in-between stage. He is not a passive spectator anymore, but it does not necessarily mean that he has a full part to play. He constitutes the work. He takes part when he moves around and within it.

The minimal volumes by Pierre Labat create a condensed space. The sculpture-architecture, the spectator’s body and vision are major factors contributing to the development of a global situation implemented by the artist and crystallized by volume.

He lives and works in Paris. He is represented by ACDC Bordeaux.
